Volume IX Issue 1 Underway

After the gruelling editorial examinations, the new editorial board is now faced with the responsibility to create an impression among its readers especially new students that Vantage View is really something. For the past years, the publication has been viewed as a submissive, mere passive entity so oblivious of the realities occuring in the campus. Perhaps, an administration pet would somehow describe Vantage View in those years that we tagged as the "Cold Age".

As the senior among the board, I suggested some articles that I want to appear and published in the next issue. Althought the same pattern is applied, a major transition will be seen that will surely urge critics to silence as our paper will be more of a news magazine. This time, we won't waste putting in print those bitter and sour issues but instead we will dwell much on making sure that our readers do learn and gain knowledge about the more important issues that needs exposure. Its high time that we produce articles that is purposely for the growth of our students while not compromising the right of the students to be informed of the katotohanan stuff that we are bragging for the longest time. We believe that in such way, we avoid the possible occurence of information barrier that is quite apparent in the way the students react towards basic issues. I hope this made sense as we from the board is trying to enlighten the minds of some confused one.

The articles that are line-up to appear in our issue are the following: the Passcu accreditation, the shuffling of administration posts, the student government promises revisited and features such as the friendster craze, the reality about reality shows, pc games, alternative mechanism, college survival guides, diversions, movie and book reviews.

The issue is tentatively scheduled for public consumption on August 25, 2004.

The Acquiantance Soiree

Who says NDTCeans are nothing but mere passive bodies nomadicly roving the campus of NDTC? Perhaps one great way to prove this premise wrong was the event the toppled last July 2 at the biggest, most modern gymnasium in this province. I'm talking about, what else, the Acquaitance Party that no malate, no west avenue and no greenbelt bars and cafes could ever overpower (only the personal opinion of this author).

What really happened last July 2? Well, after the "kainan ng masa" as I quote it, students, faculty and some administrators as well were all in rapture and "trance" because of exciting and truly throat-tiring-because-of-unavoidable-shrieking-and-shouting. Ah, but before that let me give you a rundown of the entire event. At least 85% of the NDTC college population attended, that is, 1,600. And, dandararan....the July 2 event started the earliest, at 7 p.m. a new record for the institution. And also, all administrators are in attendance, that is, from the Pres, VP Admin, VPA, Deans, Principals, Registrar, CESO, CMO, wheew, I need not mention all. The emcees are definitely the best in school. Uhmm, thanks...

A disco has put the entire gymnasium into a wild, frenzied, thrilling, seventh heaven, cloud 9, elation, whatever adjective that could commensurate to this quality. The greatest part is, at least for us greatly deprived of the opportunity for time, a disc jockey was hired and ruled over the place. Nice huh?

A promise: As soon I got hold of the pictures, mabilis pa sa alas-kuwatro eh ipo-post ko na agad.

Babay!
