VV applicants and past editors took EdBoard exams

In order to organize the new Vantage View EdBoard for the SY 2004-2005, Mr. Ding Lazado without further a do initiated this year's competitive examinations for the vacated VV EdBoard positions last June 26, 2004. At least ten aspiring journalists took the heed and did their best to occupy the coveted posts in the publication. Former EdBoard members likewise renewed their memberships through taking the said exam.

This year's competitive exams was slightly different from last year's exams although the format is still retained. Exam takers were opted to chose among ten topics and issues reflecting current local and national affairs. From these topics, they are given time to expound and make a news, features, editorial, literary and commentary out of them. A one-page layout was also required of them to complete the exam proper. After the exam, aspirants as well as the former edboard will undergo an interview to determine their aptitude to campus press.

We'll just keep you posted with regards to the results of the said examination. As for the board, good luck and kudos to all VV exam takers.

The Economics of Bananaque

The big and small of Philippine Economy

You could find it in the side streets and in small stalls... The small 'people' who make the Philippine Economy run. From a simple Bananaque vendor who buys her sugar from a government subsidized rolling store and her bananas exported from the South through government built roads and commercially run shipping companies, her 8-peso bananaque earns her a living just for 1 of her daughters.

Simple Recipe for bananaque:
1. Preheat oil in Frying pan.
2. Peel bananas and add them into hot oil.
3. Add brown sugar. Make sure the sugar sticks to the banana (this may be tricky)
4. Serve on bar-b-q sticks with about 2 bananas per stick.

Church

The house that God built.

Where the governor corrupts the government.

Where the matriarch hits her maids.

Where the priest does his vice.

Where the bishop produces his flock.

Bunch of hypocrites...and they call this a Church.

As We Trudge the new School Year with Pride

Nine years of untiring service to the studentry makes Vantage View not only an established name in the academe but also an institution. During its existence, it has, technically, produced interesting and informative articles that has raised the level of consciousness of its readers. It has been Vantage View's privilege to serve you, our publishers, with determination and purpose, and make your stay at the Notre Dame of Tacurong College a truly educational and meaningful experience.

With pride, the Transitory Board would like to announce that the Vantage View is now affiliated and an active member of the College Editors Guild of the Philippines or CEGP. CEGP is a national alliance of tertiary student prublications with over 700 member-institutions nationwide. It has been the desire of the past Editorial Boards to be connected with CEGP, however, certain reasons linked to the administration's aversion to the said organization has allayed its would-be participation. Nevertheless, through persistence, the EB SY 2003-2004, did certainly what should be done. This makes Vantage View one of the recognized and duly accredited student publication, along with SKPSC, in the province.

The accreditation of the college department to Level II status brings us to a new level of awareness as it guarantee its students that NDTC is truly heeding to its ideals of an educational quality and excellence. That gives NDTC the distinction of being the only tertiary institution in Sultan Kudarat accredited by the PAASCU. This would not be realized if not through the cooperation shown and exerted by the students, faculty and staff. Kudos to all of us!
